Payment links and QR codes
Every invoice and every recurring account has its own link. Your customer opens it on any phone or computer and pays there, so you can send it by email, text or any messaging app. Recurring accounts also show a QR code for a customer standing in front of you.
Which link to share
| Link | Where to find it | What the customer does |
|---|---|---|
| Invoice link | Open the invoice. On the web, Copy Invoice Link or Share Invoice. In the app, Copy Link or Share. | Views the invoice and pays it. See what they see. |
| Signup link for a recurring account | Open the account. On the web it's under Customer Signup. In the app, under Customer Access. | Subscribes and pays the first charge |
| Manage link for a recurring account | The same place, once the customer has subscribed | Sees their billing, downloads files and can cancel |
Each link belongs to one invoice or one account. There's no general link that takes any amount, so create an invoice for each payment you want to collect.
Links don't expire. An invoice link works until the invoice is paid or you delete it, and after payment the customer can return to it to download their files.
Share a link
- On the web, the copy button puts the link on your clipboard. The share button opens your computer's share menu, or copies the link if your browser doesn't have one.
- In the app, Share opens your phone's share sheet so you can send the link by Messages, WhatsApp, email or any other app.
Show a QR code
A recurring account shows a QR code of its link. Your customer scans it with their phone's camera and the signup page opens.
- On the web, open the account and click Show QR Code under Customer Signup.
- In the app, open the account. The QR code is under Customer Access.
Before the customer subscribes, the code opens the signup page. Once they've subscribed, it opens their manage page instead.
Invoices don't have a QR code. To take an invoice in person, send the link to the customer's phone, or ring the sale up at the Register or with Tap to Pay.
