Services
Services are the work you sell by time: a haircut, a facial, a massage. Each has a price and a duration, and add-on groups let clients choose extras. Scheduling uses the same services for appointments.
| Where | How to get there |
|---|---|
| The Register | Open Services from the Apps drawer |
| The web | paybrain.io/catalog, then Services |
| The Paybrain app | POS tab → Catalog → Services |
Turn on the Services app under Settings›Apps if you don't see it. With PIN sign-in on, editing services needs the Edit Services permission.
Add a service
Every service needs a category, such as Haircuts, Color or Treatments, so make one first.
Services has three tabs: Categories, Services and Add-ons.
- On Categories, tap Add and name the category.
- On Services, tap Add.
- Enter a Name, Price and Category, then fill in the timing and the rest. See the table below.
- Tap Add service.

- Click New service.
- Enter a Name, Price and Category, then fill in the timing and the rest. See the table below.
- Click Add service.
Providers are set on the Register.
- Tap New service category, name it and tap Save.
- Tap Add service.
- Pick the category, enter a Name and Price, then fill in the timing and add-on groups.
- Tap Save.
Providers and required forms are set on the Register. Required forms can also be set on the web.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Price | What the service costs. With card pricing on, this is the cash price. The web shows the card price under it. |
| Duration | How long the appointment runs, in minutes. The Register shows it on the service's tile. |
| Buffer | Turnover time after the appointment, before the next booking. The client isn't charged for it. |
| Rebook after (days) | When to suggest a return visit, for clients with no visit history yet. Leave it blank and Paybrain estimates it for you. Enter a number to set it yourself. |
| Status | Active, Unavailable (shown but can't be tapped) or Hidden |
| Add-on groups | The extras clients can choose with this service |
| Required forms | Intake, consent or waiver forms the client must complete before or at the visit |
Providers
Set these on the Register, where your staff are set up:
- Requires a provider: the service must be assigned to a staff member when it's booked.
- Eligible providers: limit the service to certain staff, such as a specialist. Leave it empty and any provider can do it. This list appears once you have employees marked as providers.
Add-on groups
Add-ons are to services what modifiers are to menu items: extras like Deep conditioning or an upgrade.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | What staff see, such as "Upgrades" |
| Required | The client must choose from this group |
| Unlimited selections | No cap on how many can be picked |
| Min selections, Max selections | The fewest and most that can be picked |
| Options | Each add-on's name, + Price ($) and + Min, the extra time it adds |
Create the group from the Add-ons tab on the Register, or with New add-on group on the web and in the Paybrain app. Then attach it to services under Add-on groups.
