Menu
The menu holds what you make to order: food, coffee, cocktails. Items sit in categories, and modifier groups add the choices staff pick when ringing them up, like size, milk or extras. Retail items with barcodes go in Products.

Turn on the Menu app under Settings›Apps if you don't see it. With PIN sign-in on, editing the menu needs the Edit Menu permission.
On the Register, Menu has three tabs: Categories, Items and Modifiers. Pick a tab and tap Add to create one. On the web, items and modifier groups are on the same page: use New category, New item and New modifier group. In the Paybrain app, use New menu category, Add menu item and New modifier group.
Build your menu
Add categories
Categories are the groups staff tap through on the Register screen, such as Drinks, Mains and Desserts. Give each a Name, and a Description if you like. On the web you can also pick a Colour for its tiles.
Add modifier groups
Create the groups of choices first, so you can attach them to items. See Modifier groups.
Add items
Give each item a Name, Price and Category. Under Modifier groups, pick the groups that apply, such as Size and Milk for a latte.

Modifier groups
A modifier group is one question with a set of answers, like Size: Small, Medium, Large. Each option can add to the price, such as Extra shot for $0.75.

On the web, tick Default next to an option to have it picked already when staff open the item.
Ring up an item with modifiers
Tap the item on the Register screen. A sheet opens with its modifier groups. Staff pick the options, the price updates, and they add it to the sale. Required groups show Pick one until something is chosen.
Menu or Products?
Every category belongs to one manager. On the Register and the web, the category's Catalog setting is Menu or Products. Older categories without one show in both until you open and save them. Selling screens always show every category, whatever it's set to.
