Locations
A location is one of your physical stores. Each has its own address, hours and closeout time, and every sale, shift and closeout is recorded against the location it happened at.
Add or edit a location
On the Register, go to Settings›Locations and tap Add, or tap a location to edit it. This needs the Manage Settings permission. On the web, go to Manage → Locations and click New location, or click a location to edit it. The Paybrain app can't add or edit locations.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | What staff see, such as "Downtown" |
| Street, City, State, Postal code | The store's address. Stripe registers your card readers to it, and it prints on receipts. |
| Phone, Email | The store's contact details |
| Timezone | Web only. The store's local time. Closeouts, reports and booking hours all follow it. |
| Close out the day automatically | Closes out the day on its own. On by default. |
| Day closes at | When the day's numbers cut over. The default is 5:00am. See Closeouts. |
| Business hours | The opening hours for each day of the week. Online booking only offers times within them. Staff can override the schedule with Book anyway, including on closed days. |
| Default location | New registers, and activity not tagged with a location, fall back to it |
| Required forms | Forms every client is asked to complete at this location, whatever the service |
Tap Add location or Save changes.
Set business hours
Each day can have more than one window, for example 9am–1pm and 3pm–7pm. Add a window to a day, or remove them all to close it. On the web, a close time earlier than the open time runs past midnight, so 5:00pm to 1:00am is a late-night shift. To use Monday's hours every day, tap Copy Mon → all on the Register or click Copy Monday to all on the web.
On the Register, a new location starts with Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
Your first location
Your first location becomes the default, and all your existing orders are assigned to it.
Choose this Register's location
With more than one location, each Register works as one of them. Its name shows at the top left of the screen.
To change it, go to Settings›Active location and pick a location. Every screen on that Register then works as that location. Changing it needs the Manage Settings permission.
The web and the Paybrain app pick a location the same way, each on its own:
- On the web: pick from the location menu at the top of the Point of sale pages. It shows when you have more than one location.
- In the Paybrain app: tap the location name under Point of sale on the POS tab.
To limit which locations an employee can use, set their location access.
Delete a location
Open the location and tap Delete location. Orders and stock stay recorded against it, but nothing new can happen there. This can't be undone.
Payroll across locations
Payroll and its exports cover every location, so someone who works at two stores is paid for all their hours together. See Payroll.
