- Turn on Tip on terminal and set your choices.
- Tap Save changes.
- Go to Point of Sales›Register settings.
- Under Payments, turn on Tip on terminal and set your choices.
- Click Save payment settings.
- Open the POS tab and tap Register settings.
- Under Tipping, turn on Tip on terminal and set your choices.
- Tap Save settings.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tip percentages | Three percentages the reader offers, for example 15, 20 and 25 |
| Fixed tip amounts | Three dollar amounts offered on small bills, for example $1, $5 and $10 |
| Use percentages above | The bill amount where the reader switches from fixed amounts to percentages. The default is $10. |
The reader always offers No tip as well.
How tips are collected
- Card reader: the reader asks for the tip before the customer pays. This follows Tip on terminal.
- Tabs: the tip is asked for when the tab is paid.
The rest depends on the device.
The Paid screen shows the tip included in the payment.
Tips in reports
Reports show tips for each employee, so you can pay tips out to the right people. On the Register it's Tips by Employee. On the web and in the phone app it's Tips & commission by employee.
